When Animal Cruelty Happens to Your Pet or You Witness Cruelty
All cruelty complaints can be directed to:

-Animal Control
Should additional help be needed, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals (ASPCA) can also be contacted. ASPCA's Legal Department will assist local
officials about how to prosecute the case. The Legal Department also intervenes in animal
cruelty cases throughout the country as a friend of the court in order to advocate for the
punishment of abusers to the fullest extent permitted by law. The department can be
reached at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4451 or by e-mail at legal@aspca.org.
The ALDF also urges people to please contact them to report animal cruelty cases in the
local community and/or to send them articles about local cases.
